Based in Montréal, Laura Huchet is a ceramic artist whose work investigates the dialogue between clay, fire, and time. She is particularly drawn to atmospheric processes, where surfaces emerge through chance, intensity, and transformation. Her pieces often highlight the fragile presence of bare clay alongside the depth of shino and celadon glazes.

At Shiro Oni, I would like to continue the research I have already begun with shino glazes, which fascinate me for their depth and their subtle relationship to light. I also wish to create larger pieces — vases and vessels — to give my work a new dimension, both technical and expressive. For me, these volumes are like living bodies, containers of fire and memory.
