ARTIST IN RESIDENCE: Alexandra Neville

Alexandra Neville is a ceramic artist based in Stanwell Park, Australia. She works across physical and digital practices, with clay acting as a grounding and reflective anchor in her process. Her sculptures explore the internal forces, emotional, psychological and environmental, that shape how we move through the world.

I hope to test new forms, try different clay bodies, explore alternative construction methods and experiment with a range of surfacing approaches. This includes working with texture, colour development, glaze testing and trying firing methods that are unfamiliar to me.
Another focus of my time will be exploring the relationship between ceramics and sound. I am also a musician, and in recent years I have been considering how ceramic forms might interact with ambient audio.
