My design philosophy centers on exploring the raw forms and inherent properties of materials. I work primarily with clay, metal, wood, and glass—drawing from traditional craft methods while pushing them into experimental territory. Through testing, altering, and reinterpreting established techniques, I aim to uncover new possibilities that challenge conventional boundaries of function and form. During the Shiro Oni residency, I would like to focus on learning, experimenting, and exploring materials in a way that connects traditional Japanese craft with my own design practice. My work often begins with hands-on experimentation, letting materials guide form and meaning, and I see this residency as a chance to expand that approach in a setting where care for nature, local community, and process is central.

私のデザイン哲学は、素材そのものの形や性質を探究することにあります。粘土や金属、木、ガラスなどを使い、伝統的な工芸の技法を大切にしつつ、自由に実験的な新しい表現を探っています。既存の技法を試したり、変えてみたり、再解釈したりすることで、形や機能の常識を超えた可能性を見つけることを目指しています。シロオニスタジオでは、日本の伝統的な工芸と自分のデザインをつなげる形で、素材について学び、実験し、探求することに集中したいと考えています。私の作品は、手を動かし素材と向き合うことから始まることが多く、素材が形や意味を導くプロセスを大切にしています。このレジデンスは、自然や地域の人々、制作過程に大切な気持ちを向けられる環境だと思います、そして、そうしたアプローチをさらに広げていける素敵な機会だと考えています。
