Güde Renken, born 1972 in Flensburg, freelance artist since 2002, lives and works in Düsseldorf. After completing her diploma in art therapy and art education at the Freie Kunststudienstätte Ottersberg (1998) and an artistic-practical course at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig (2008), she focussed on painting, drawing and multidisciplinary projects.

During my stay at Shiro Oni Studio Artist in Residence, I would like to explore the interplay between drawing and ceramics and continue my experience of how random, spontaneous drawings can be translated into three-dimensional forms. Building on my earlier ceramic work ‘Clip’, I plan to create small ceramic pieces or fired clay pieces inspired by quick sketches.
