Installation, Writing

Yelizaveta Strakhova (b. 1993, Russia) is an Amsterdam-based spatial practitioner whose work exists at the intersection of art and architecture. Attuned to the omnipresence of water as a connective and transformative force, Yelizaveta uses it as a lens through which to explore societal values and dynamics, reflecting broader cultural and environmental narratives. Her multifaceted practice spans spatial interventions, writing, gardening, curating and working with collective structures. Since earning her MA from the Studio for Immediate Spaces at the Sandberg Institute in 2019, Yelizaveta has contributed to Ornamenta2024 and BIO26 Common Knowledge in Ljubljana, collaborated with TextielLab Tilburg on material research, participated in the Gemene Grond residency in Utrecht, and self-initiated a temporary Communal Bathing Site. She curated an educational program on water at the Luminary Center in Dagestan and contributed essays to HAMAM magazine, ‘More perspectives on Designing Cities for all’, ‘The Perfect House has become a Ruin: on lavoirs’.
