The Thumbtack is my analog pixel — I create painterly and sculptural images, one pinn at a time. I treat wooden surfaces (whether natural or readymade) through an obsessive layering process involving cork, alloy, and thumbtacks. Each piece unfolds through a repetitive, intuitive motion, without prior planning. In the end, a unified result is formed: a single entity composed of thousands of fragments — just like us, in this world. I am an artist and explorer inspired by nature, cultures, and creative processes.
Having traveled extensively across Asia, I am eager to visit Japan for the first time and immerse myself in its traditional crafts and creative practices and rich history.
During the residency, I aim to deepen my understanding of these ancient arts and integrate this knowledge into my artistic journey.

「画びょう」は、私にとってアナログのピクセルのような存在です。画びょうを一つずつ打ちながら、絵画のようでもあり彫刻のようでもあるイメージをつくり出しています。木の素材（自然のままのものでも、既製品でも）に対して、コルクや合金、画びょうを重ねるというこだわりの層積みのプロセスで作品を作ります。ひとつひとつの動作は直感に従った反復で、あらかじめ計画されたものではありません。最終的に、何千もの断片がひとつにまとまり、ひとつの統一された作品が生まれます。まるで、私たちがこの世界で一つの存在を作り上げているかのように。私は自然や文化、創作のプロセスからインスピレーションを受けるアーティストであり探求者です。これまでアジア各地を旅してきましたが、日本を訪れるのは今回が初めてで、伝統工芸や創作の営み、豊かな歴史に触れることをとても楽しみにしています。レジデンス滞在中は、こうした古くからの技や知恵を深く学び、自分の表現に取り入れていくことを目指しています。
