Ray McIntyre (b. 2000) is an artist and designer from Saint Louis, MO. He recieved his BA in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis in 2023. Subjects of interest in his work include his relationship with his Japanese-American identity, the greater East Asian diaspora, heirloom objects, luxury goods, loss, and industrial manufacturing processes.

I have been looking for opportunities to reconnect with my roots in Japan in ways outside of my family, which is primarily based in Tokyo. Much of the passion and interests in my work interact with the “foot in two doors” cultural upbringing I had, along with my general fascination and interest in the rich histories of Japanese ceramics.
