My work investigates the role of a perceived sense of place through a formal abstract language of cuts, lines, and ambiguous marks. I work in drawing, performance, sculpture, and collected GPS data and objects to pull from themes of constructed memory, ritual, and personal mythologies. While in residence at Shiro Oni, I intend to create a series of works based on walks I plan on taking in the area surrounding the studios and town. It is my hope that these walks will become collaborative events, done with other residents at the Studios, and thereby creating a collaborative final product.
