Elise Birnbaum earned her BFA from Virginia Tech in 2010 with a focus on printmaking and sculpture. Upon graduation, Elise worked for a nonprofit printmaking studio in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before entering the world of retail display and installation where she worked for Anthropologie for 5 years. Elise began to take classes and explore different mediums and started to work making sculptural, functional and wearable ceramics, she know owns an operates a small business under the name OATMEAL where she makes and sells her ceramic and metal wares.
エリス・バンバームはヴァージニア工科大学 で版画と彫刻を学び、2010年に美術学士の学位を取得。卒業後はペンシルヴェニア州ピッツバーグで非営利の版画スタジオで働いたのち、アンソロポロジー（インテリア雑貨のブランド）で5年間ディスプレイや展示の仕事にたずさわる。様々な素材を研究し、彫刻的で機能的で身に付けることができる陶器の制作を始める。彼女の制作した陶磁器や金属器を販売する、オートミールという名の小さなビジネスを経営している。
