Stay:2025 8/13-9/24
Sculpture and installation. Ceramics/mixed media
Catherine Lane lives and works on the east coast of Australia. Studies in Visual Arts together with thirty years of working with clay have resulted in an expansive technical skillsbase. Training in Japan instilled a discipline that grounded her creative practice, and together with a philosophy that has empathy and connection at its core, her work has currency and relevance in this global moment. Highlights include Hill End and the Gaya Ceramic Art Centre where she returned (2018) as interim Director, to co-ordinate the international artist program and she won the prestigious Townsville Ceramics Award with a sculpture from this time.
Highlights include interactive works at the East Asian Australasian Flyways MOP, and the Byron Writer’s Festival. Lane’s bespoke porcelain keepsakes have been gifted across the globe.
As a passionate environmentalist, Lane uses empathy to bring awareness to the climate crisis and the human:nature connection.
