I design utilitarian objects dedicated to domestic life. I am interested in historical culinary practices and aim to highlight forgotten objects such as lacto-fermentation pots and water butter dishes. Inspired by traditional forms, I strive for practicality and robustness in my objects while maintaining a certain lightness.
I seek to create a meeting point between color, raw material, and texture. I achieve color through the application of vitreous slips in various layers and overlaps, rawness through quick and spontaneous wheel throwing that emphasizes movement, and texture through the coarse grain of my clays, which are largely sourced from local brickyards, and through the ashes incorporated into my slips and glazes.
