This session I will be working on the natural dye project I began in Nepal. Here I am dyeing Japanese cotton, linen, and silk with indigo and hoping to construct 1-3 kimonos inspired by the garments of the farmers and fishermen, made of simple cloth but embellished by the art of shibori and the shashiko embroidery.  I will stay though November to work on ceramics and participate in the anagama firing.

今回は、ネパールで始めた自然素材の染色プロジェクトを行います。ここで私は日本の木綿、亜麻、そして絹を藍で染めて、1つから3つの着物をつくりたいと思っています。それらは農民や漁師の衣服にインスパイアされ、シンプルな、しかし絞りや刺し子の技法によって装飾された布地で作られるものです。私は11月まで滞在して、陶器の制作と穴窯の火入れにも参加します。
